The Trusted Name in Home Windows & Remodeling Since 1987

Maurice A. Forde founded Forde Windows and Remodeling, Inc. in January 1987, with the support of his wife, Sari. Maurice worked in the business as a subcontractor before he decided to start his own company, which specializes in window and door replacement. In its 30-plus year history, FW&R has successfully installed more than 20,000 replacement windows and doors!

Today, the company has added complete home improvement projects to its service offerings. FW&R employs between eight and 16 craftspeople at any one time. We have a lead carpenter system that helps keep our jobs running smoothly and increases overall customer satisfaction.

Our Certifications

FW&R is a member of the Better Business Bureau and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) as part of our commitment to professionalism in the remodeling business. We also participate in all forms of ongoing education; for example, FW&R recently completed the HUD Lead Safe Remodeling program.

Maurice Forde has served on NARI of Greater Chicagoland’s board of directors as a past president, and was at that time a delegate to the National Board where he chaired Education, Finance and Certification.

This year, FW&R has three certified employees on staff as certified by the NARI. One certified lead carpenter (CLC) and one Certified Remodeler (CR) and one Certified Kitchen & Bath Remodeler (CKBR). This professional approach is evident in all aspects of work completed by our company.

An Award-Winning Company

Forde Windows & Remodeling’s work with L.R. Development Co. on The Mayflower in Chicago was voted Contractor of the Year at the NARI COTY Awards. FW&R replaced the 800 aluminum windows that were installed during the building’s renovation in 1979 with historically accurate, aluminum-clad wood windows.
